Addiction & Substance Misuse - Emotional, Alcohol & Drugs
Dependency has the ability to threaten your relationships, your career, and your physical and psychological wellbeing. I help my clients free themselves from the cycles of their addiction, so they live healthier, happier and more fruitful lives.
No matter what you’re feeling stuck with right now, I support you in separating who you are from what you do, so over time, you can create the right choices for yourself. Your journey to freedom from addiction is unique.
Below are some of the common challenges I support my clients to overcome. If you are ready to have a confidential chat about you and how I can help you become free from dependency, complete the enquiry form here.
Emotional Addiction
The highs and lows of life leave us all with a cocktail of emotions that cause a cellular change within the body.
Emotions start with a thought and most of these thoughts become habitual. From a very young age, meaning is assigned to thoughts (more often to validate safety and love), so the subconscious assumes the thoughts are true. It’s this meaning, which creates the emotion.
The emotions creates a cellular change and the body shifts with the brain firing in response. This cycle changes the reward center of the brain, so even if the emotion is leaving you miserable, a rush of chemicals from experiencing the emotion become your reward.
Many of my clients come to realise that they have subconsciously been seeking out experiences which result in these emotions, even if they are wanting to change.
Your emotions of anger, guilt, shame and regret become well rehursed through this firing and wiring process and an emotion addiction is when the body becomes dependent on your own chemical responses.
In order to heal from emotional addiction, you have to become aware of your own patterns and what is triggering them. I support my clients to do this through regression therapy and exploring where the emotion first originated from, so you can remove the pattern and rewire new and positive ways of experiencing life.

Alcohol Dependency
‘Have another one’ or ‘Don’t let me down’.
Nobody plans to become dependent on alcohol. As a society, we’ve been conditioned to enjoy a drink and believe that it makes us happy.
Often those couple of drinks slowly lead to more and the pleasure rapidly disappears. Many clients realise they have been drinking so much that they become a different person, leaving their motivation, focus, productivity, confidence and vitality diminished.
Relationships and commitments also become a challenge to keep on top of and everything has become too much.
I suspect if you’re reading this, you are feeling as if the pleasure has subsided and you’re wondering what steps you can take to restore more balance in your life.
Recovering from alcohol dependency is done by revisiting the stories you tell yourself with a supportive and wiser perspective, so you can regulate the emotions and experiences, and heal the old wounds of your past.
I help my clients change how they feel about their past using rapid transformational techniques and dynamic tools to access their subconscious minds. This process of healing becomes exciting as you take the fulfilling steps to live a happier, healthier, and a more abundant life.

Drug Misuse
I often hear how taking ‘drugs’ starts out as something fun and something to escape the stresses of life, or to help build connection with after work drinks and release some pressure.
Cocaine, marajuana and other common street drugs all follow a similar pattern of becoming habitual and changing the reward centre of the brain.
These cycles (similar to emotional addiction) become isolating and anxiety provoking for many of my clients.
As a result, they begin to see threats appear in their relationships, careers and normal life commitments.
Logically, it’s easy to understand the impact of drug misuse and how the habitual behaviour is effecting everything and everyone, but often clients feel stuck and overwhelmed in an endless cycle of guilt, shame, regret and failure.
Healing from drug or chemical misuse is done by revisiting the stories you tell yourself with a supportive and wiser perspective, so you can regulate the emotions and experiences, and heal the old wounds of your past.
